SeatGeek is building an innovative open-ecosystem enterprise ticketing software that allows teams, venues, and promoters (aka Rightsholders) to efficiently run their businesses and captivate fans.

We’re proud to partner with some of the most recognized names in sports and entertainment across the globe, including the Dallas Cowboys, Liverpool F.C., and the Florida Panthers, alongside many other teams in the NFL, MLS, and English Premier League, and theaters on Broadway and in London’s West End.

We believe rightsholders, not ticketing companies, should have full control over the tools they use and partners they choose within their ticket-selling ecosystem. Third-parties make that ecosystem better – from tools that provide analytics, data visualization, dynamic pricing, and more – and our flexible, open platform makes those integrations possible.

We're looking for bright, curious builders who want to help millions of people experience the thrill of live entertainment by improving and modernizing our enterprise ticketing product. The ticketing industry is messy, complex and makes attending live events more difficult than it is; we believe a thoughtful application of software can fix that.

What you'll do

  • Influence all levels of the stack from infrastructure through application and all phases of the software lifecycle from planning through implementation and ongoing operations
  • Build out a modern, containerized software architecture using industry-leading software development practices
  • Swap out the engine while the plane is flying: replace and update critical components of both software and hardware architecture in an uptime-critical setting
  • Evaluate new technologies and improve our software stack to maintain our technological edge

Who you are

  • 7+ years of experience designing, building, and operating complex distributed systems on Kubernetes or similar orchestrators. We'll be most interested in hearing about what you've built and which problems you've solved
  • Familiar with SRE principles and a passion for software craftsmanship. You have well-considered opinions about how software should behave, and hold your work to a high standard
  • Experienced leading architectural change in software. Patient, pragmatic, and driven by business outcomes and customer needs.
  • Deeply familiar with both Windows and Linux platforms, and experience developing software for both. Prior experience with Windows containers is a plus
  • Committed to your teammates. You enjoy working with a diverse group of people with different experiences and take pride in mentoring and contributing to the growth and success of other members of the team

The tools we use

  • Languages: C#/.NET Core, and Go, Terraform
  • Datastores: Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, Memcached/Redis
  • Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, DataDog

Perks

  • Equity stake
  • Flexible work environment, allowing you to work as many days a week in the office as you’d like or 100% remotely
  • A WFH stipend to support your home office setup
  • Flexible PTO
  • Up to 16 weeks of paid family leave
  • 401(k) matching program
  • Health, vision, dental, and life insurance
  • Annual subscriptions to Headspace, Ginger.io, and One Medical
  • $120 a month to spend on tickets to live events
  • Annual subscription to Spotify, Apple Music, or Amazon music

The salary range for this role is $130,000-$240,000. Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.

SeatGeek is the live entertainment platform that’s rethinking ticketing by caring more about fans, teams and venues. We're powering a new, open entertainment industry where fans have effortless access to experiences, and teams, venues and shows have seamless access to their audiences.

Trusted Consumer Marketplace

We make it easy for fans to buy tickets and attend events through industry-first features like Deal Score, our ticket-rating technology; Rally, our event experience platform; and SeatGeek Swaps, the first return policy offered by a major ticketer. These features and more have made us the highest rated and most trusted ticketer.

Innovative Enterprise Ticketing Technology

Our enterprise ticketing software allows teams, venues and shows to efficiently grow their businesses while delivering the superior experience that all fans deserve. We’re proud to partner with some of the most recognized names in the world across sports and entertainment since launching in 2016.

Our core values

  • Start with fans: When fans win, everyone wins…and for too long fans have lost. We challenge ourselves, our partners and our industry to start with fans, and let everything else follow from there.

  • Be humbold: We're bold, but humble. We believe we can come up with better ways of doing things through fresher thinking, without being jerks in the process. We're brave enough both to go all-in and also to admit when we're wrong.

  • Pull back the curtains: We put outsized focus on building the most talented team possible. Exceptional people enabled with context do incredible work, so even when it's uncomfortable, we're over-the-top transparent with information.

  • Don't do bullsh*t work: If unchecked, every job results in too many hours spent on bullsh*t work. We design how we work to spend the most time doing rather than preparing to do. Speed compounds; the fastest to innovate, win.

  • Stack the lineup: Our team is our biggest unfair advantage, and the best teams bring together different backgrounds and experiences. We attract exceptional people who are as diverse as the events we ticket, and strive to create an environment where everyone belongs and maximizes their potential.

  • Play long ball: We take big bets on the future. Often we won't know if those bets are successful for months, or even years. Some will fail. Betting on the future means we aren't wholly focused on success today. We're willing to take those risks because they enable the outsized payoffs that change how fans experience live entertainment.
