POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Learning Experience Designer reporting to the Learning & Development and Safety Manager, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing educational frameworks that foster our workforce's growth and competencies. This position requires a unique blend of creativity, technological proficiency, and a comprehensive understanding of instructional design principles. Ideal candidates will be adept at navigating fast-paced environments, contributing to our culture of continuous learning, and promoting diversity and inclusivity in educational approaches.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with SMEs, department heads, and executives to develop and implement comprehensive learning strategies.
- Lead the identification of training needs, the development of curricula, and the introduction of innovative learning solutions, utilizing agile methodologies.
- Manage and optimize our Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring our training materials are current and effective.
- Design and execute learning initiatives that are engaging, transformational, and aligned with operational goals.
- Curate and maintain an in-house content library focused on construction, Data Center operations, compliance, ESG, and DE&I, aligning with corporate branding and strategic objectives.
- Administer LMS, including user upload and content troubleshooting, with a preference for candidates experienced in Skillsoft or similar complex reporting systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 6 years of experience in content design and development, including virtual and in-person training solutions.
- Minimum of 4 years in a highly technical, regulated environment. Preference for backgrounds in Military, Manufacturing (O&G, high volume, clean), Hospital IT/Software, Data Center Operations, Commercial Construction & Design, or Engineering.
- Proven track record of working with organizational leaders for at least 5 years.
- High level of self-proficiency and skill in instructional design tools and LMS’ (e.g., Articulate Rise 360, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, MS365, Panopto, Skillsoft).
- Experience in train-the-trainer programs, mentoring SMEs in content design, and applying adult and neurodivergent learning principles.
- Experience designing communications to audiences through the LMS, SharePoint News Post, and SharePoint pages.
- Exceptional communication skills, a passion for learning and development, and a curious, innovative mindset.
- Academic qualifications (AA, BA/BS, MA, MBA) or relevant certifications can substitute for direct experience on a 1:1 basis. Workplace and direct skills experience is highly preferred.
Travel: Candidates should expect at least ~20 – 50% of travel for the first year of content development.
Applicants for this position are expected to present a portfolio showcasing their design and project management skills through examples of training programs or content they have created. Additionally, during the initial recruitment screening call, candidates will be asked to prepare and present content on a specified topic. This presentation will serve as a platform for candidates to demonstrate their expertise and creativity to the interview panel.
Compensation for this role is dependent on location and experience with a range of $65,000 - $85,000 base + bonus.
