Key Responsibilities:
Estimate Preparation:
- Review meeting notes, floor plans, and project scopes to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and scopes of work to identify all required materials, labor, and subcontractor components.
- Perform detailed takeoffs and measurements to quantify materials and labor needs accurately.
- Enter project data and cost breakdowns into JobTread, the company’s CRM and estimating tool.
- Build and maintain standardized estimate templates for recurring project types (e.g., kitchens, bathrooms, renovations) to enable faster quoting.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure estimates are accurate, aligned with schedules, and reflect current market pricing.
Process Documentation & Template Building:
- Develop standardized estimating templates and SOPs within JobTread for repeatable project categories.
- Assist in documenting workflows around estimating, quoting, and proposal preparation.
- Coordinate with existing Admin VA to maintain consistency in documentation, file organization, and reporting.
Client & Subcontractor Coordination:
- Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to verify pricing, availability, and labor requirements.
- Support the client and the Project Manager in reviewing estimates with clients and ensuring alignment before project start.
- Provide bilingual communication support (English/Spanish) for subcontractors and clients, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all exchanges.
Cross-Functional Support:
- When estimation volume is light, assist the Project Manager with scheduling updates, task tracking, and coordination efforts.
- Contribute to improving the efficiency of project execution workflows by providing feedback and refinement suggestions based on estimating experience.
Requirements
Qualifications:
● Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably within the residential remodeling industry.
● Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
● Skilled in JobTread and other estimating or project management software.
● Experience with CAD, 2D/3D drawing, or takeoff tools (AutoCAD experience preferred).
● Strong analytical and mathematical skills for cost calculations and material takeoffs.
● Excellent written and verbal communication; customer service-oriented approach.
● Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred (high priority for this role).
