For data conversion projects, the Conversion Developer is responsible for working on the implementation aspects of the conversion process including conversion setup, maintaining and running load programs, testing, and reconciliation.

The Conversion Developer is accountable for understanding the business environment and processes to be able to derive practical business-system solutions as related to the specific goals of the project. The Conversion Developer must ensure that all aspects of the business need or problem are correctly reflected in the conversion process and the data mapping. The Conversion Developer is responsible for adjusting and maintaining the conversion programs and orchestration of the data load to the target system; CoreSuite for Workers Compensation.

  • Applies industry knowledge and expertise to guide clients in business and understanding of the CoreSuite data structure requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the conversion process.
  • Assist in data mapping activities and answer questions client questions about how the data needs to be extracted to align with CoreSuite implementation.
  • Defines and documents clear and concise business requirements that describe business scenarios and processes in language understandable to both technical and domain stakeholders
  • Assist clients with running, configuring, and troubleshooting the data extraction process including the population of the staging tables.
  • Develops and maintains conversion load programs
  • Provides analysis and consultation to clients during application conversion
  • Develops and maintains validation processes to ensure conversion accuracy
  • Work directly with clients to perform analysis, configuration and implementation of the conversion process and routines.
  • Documents process and procedures and maintains existing conversion documentation.
  • Works with development and quality assurance teams to ensure a technically sound solution.
  • Provides input to and review of estimates at each phase of a project
  • Able to write simple database queries and update scripts to assist with more complex configuration, issue analysis and troubleshooting
  • Perform other duties as required.

Years of Experience:
  • 5-8 years of business and/or technical analysis experience in the Workers’ Compensation industry and/or equivalent experience with other policy, claims or billing applications.
  • 5+ years of data conversion experience

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to set, drive and achieve deliverables
  • Strong domain expertise in functional areas and lines of business relevant to Sapiens strategy such as workers comp claims and underwriting is desired.
  • Strong knowledge of Use Case modeling
  • A strong knowledge of the Workers Compensation insurance industry is desired.
  • Working knowledge of business modeling, requirements, and analysis & design disciplines of overall iterative software development life cycle
  • Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate business concepts to both technical and end users
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, MS Project, Visio)
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL Server and/or Oracle)
  • Strong SQL skills with experience utilizing multiple structured query languages, including SQL Server
  • Knowledge of logical and physical data modeling
  • Experience with ETL tools, preferably Talend
  • Experience with XML for data presentation and communication

Education/Certifications/Training:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, computer science and/or related field; related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement.

Physical Conditions/Requirements:
  • Ability to hear and communicate clearly, orally and in writing
  • Uses vision to view screens, create and review documents; requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Capable of using a keyboard effectively
  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk and may occasionally lift and move 25 pounds
  • May require the ability to drive a vehicle
  • Occasional travel to meetings, client sites or outside training. Must be available for travel and on-site work at the customer site. Flexibility with regard to availability for travel, based on project and customer requirements, will be necessary.
