SageSure, a leading Managing General Underwriter in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking an Operations Manager to drive scalability, establish efficient operational processes, and enhance productivity for our carrier partners and the Carrier Operations team. Acting as a main point of contact for our carrier partners, this positionrequires strong relationship management skills and someone highly motivated to leverage their operations and project management abilities to provide best-in-class service and optimize the working relationships between SageSure and its carrier partners.

The Carrier Operations team sits within the Office of the CEO is one of the most agile at SageSure. The team operates at the highest levels within the organization and regularly works with the C-Suite and other Senior Leaders internally and externally to foster strong operational partnerships, and responsible management of our carrier portfolios. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across multiple departments at SageSure as we continue our rapid growth.

What you’d be doing:

  • Act as primary day-to-day operational contact for each of SageSure’s carrier partners
  • Own the intake, triage, and coordination of cross-functional requests across all aspects of SageSure’s carrier relationships (e.g., Finance, Product Development & Implementation, Business Intelligence, Data Management, etc.)
  • Develop operational KPIs/Carrier Health Scorecards and regularly report on results to SageSure leadership
  • Craft and implement strategic initiatives to streamline operations and improve carrier operational health
  • Monitor the pipeline of Insurance Product updates and brief our carrier partners on relevant changes
  • Ensure successful execution of key underwriting/portfolio profitability initiatives (e.g., rate & guideline changes, exposure management efforts, etc.)
  • Drive adherence to contractual obligations across the business
  • Coordinate delivery of statutory/regulatory reporting and data calls, ensuring data is accurate and delivered on time
  • Maintain schedule of statutory/regulatory reporting obligations as well as internal and external audits to ensure all are appropriately prioritized and delivered per prescribed deadlines
  • Build repository of operating procedures and reference materials for the Carrier Operations team

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in insurance operations, ideally within the homeowners insurance space
  • Extremely strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of successful cross-functional project management
  • Prior experience building and managing scalable processes
  • Strong presentation skills and comfort engaging with executive audiences
  • Ability to draft detailed business requirements and comprehensive project plans
  • High level of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to coach and develop individuals around them
  • Propensity for making data-based decisions
  • A keen eye for detail and an obsession with precision
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • MBA
  • Relevant insurance designations such as CPCU, ARe, ARM, AINS, etc.
  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Proficiency with SQL, Alteryx, Domo, PowerBI
  • Proficiency with Smartsheet, Jira
  • Knowledge of insurance carrier regulatory requirements and industry best practices
