Overview:

SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Accountant. This role is responsible for providing support for the corporate accounting functions. These functions include monthly accounting and financial reporting, as well as upholding the organization’s accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. This position interacts with all levels of management throughout the Company.
What you’d be doing:
- Prepare and record monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries for accounting system
- Prepare and maintain monthly accounting support workpapers
- Complete monthly bank and other reconciliations
- Perform account and variance analysis as requested by management
- Complete monthly bank fee analysis for the company, and analyze results for management decision-making
- Supports the preparation of supplemental financial exhibits and various other accounting statements and reports
- Perform vendor cost analysis supporting schedules to identify ways to improve financial results
- Analyze financial reports and records
- Assist in preparing schedules for the external annual audit and interim agreed upon procedures
- Assist in driving company performance through pro-actively analyzing profitability and returns at the legal entity and department levels
- Contribute recommendations to management to help impact long term strategic objectives as well as daily decisions
- Gain a strong understanding of the corporate general ledger software and reporting tools
- Assist in the correspondence between business leaders finance leadership
- Develop and maintain detailed financial exhibits as necessary
- Document and maintain accounting policies and process workflows
- Maintain monthly reporting dashboard for management
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Finance or business-related field
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in financial analysis or relevant business experience
- Strong project management experience
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting principles, policies, and controls
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with an emphasis in Excel and PowerPoint skills required
- Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite and NetSuite Planning and Budgeting Software or other large ERP
- Ability to work under strict deadlines, both independently and in a team environment
- Attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong verbal and written skills, and the ability to convey complex information
- Available to work across time zones with flexibility to follow-up on items outside of business hours, including weekends
