Job Description

We are currently searching for a skilled Payroll Manager to become an integral part of our team at S&S Activewear. As a vital member in this role, you'll offer prompt and precise guidance on payroll processing and compliance matters, while delivering tailored payroll solutions that significantly enhance business operations, fostering client retention and expansion. In addition to meticulously reviewing and processing payroll data, you will also routinely be documenting any inefficiencies or errors, verifying the numerical accuracy of data based on hours worked, and ensuring prompt payment processing.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including but not limited to calculating wages, processing deductions, and ensuring timely distribution of paychecks or direct deposits
  • Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Handle all applicable tax filings and payments accurately and on time
  • Maintain accurate records of employee hours worked, wages paid, taxes withheld, and any other relevant payroll information
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports as needed, including payroll journals, summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, and hours worked
  • Partner with Finance to analyze payroll data to identify trends and variances
  • Partner with HRIS to ensure ADP Workforce Now is efficient, up-to-date, and capable of meeting the organization's needs
  • Address any payroll-related issues or discrepancies promptly and effectively, working closely with HR and finance departments as necessary
  • Participate in periodic internal and external audits of payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to Payroll Specialist as needed
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the payroll function, implementing best practices where applicable
  • Participate in budget and forecast process as it relates to total compensation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, ADP Workforce Manager and/or Kronos UKG required
  • Strong understanding of payroll principals, tax regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues independently
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Experience processing large volume, multi-state payroll.
  • Technical skills in a variety of areas including payroll processing, reporting, and account reconciliations
