Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager of Technology Business Management (TBM) leads strategic initiatives that align IT investments with business outcomes. They enable core operational functions required to run IT like a business. This role drives the development, integration, and continuous improvement of TBM capabilities – including IT Financial Management (ITFM), Vendor Management, and Contract Management – ensuring transparency, accountability, and value realization across the technology organization. The TBM Manager owns and manages the processes, tooling, and governance behind the capabilities, working across the Technology Towers with executive leaders, directors, cost center owners, and stakeholders. Experience with Power BI and Excel, enabling the development of executive-level dashboards, reports, and presentations to showcase data-driven decision-making and strategic decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Planning & Capability Development
    • Lead the design and implementation of new TBM capabilities aligned with the business strategy.
    • Continuously improve existing TBM processes and tools, including rollout, communication, and stakeholder support.
    • Partner with the Technology Strategy Team to align TBM operations with enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, ensuring consistent execution of governance frameworks and integration of TBM insights into long-term planning.
    • Translate requirements into use cases for ITFM, Vendor Management, Contract Management, and other relevant TBM capabilities.
  • Financial Management & Insights
    • Manage all financial management processes, including forecasting, budgeting, accruals, purchase orders, and month-end reconciliations across multiple portfolios
    • Experience with Power BI and Excel to develop dashboards and reports to support data-driven financial management decision-making and strategic planning.
    • Partner with technology stakeholders to calculate and communicate IT Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and unit cost allocations, understanding data structures and taxonomies, cost pools, allocation logic, and business rules.
  • Vendor & Contract Management
    • Oversee supplier engagement processes to ensure strategic alignment, effective onboarding, and consistent vendor performance across the technology organization.
    • Manage end-to-end vendor payment workflows, ensuring timely execution, compliance with contract terms, and continuous improvement of financial operations related to vendor management.
    • Own the end-to-end contract management lifecycle and process, ensuring alignment with vendor performance, compliance standards, and organizational objectives.
  • Operational Execution & Governance
    • Collaborate with internal teams and vendor partners to operationalize TBM capabilities.
    • Oversee tooling, process integration, and governance frameworks to ensure adoption and compliance.
  • Platform & Data Stewardship
    • Serve as system administrator and SME for TBM tools, managing access, upgrades, and incident resolution.
    • Coordinate data integration from systems of record (e.g., GL, Fixed Assets, ServiceNow) and support data governance strategies.
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Manage and mentor a team responsible for TBM operations, including performance management and training.

Skills and Abilities:

Mastery of Financial Concepts: Strong grasp of balance sheets, P&L, ROI, budgeting, cost allocations, and capital vs. operating concepts.

IT Financial Management: Extensive experience with forecasting, budgeting, accruals, purchase orders, and month-end reconciliations.

Reporting: Development of executive-level dashboards and reports to support strategic decisions, using tools such as Power BI, Excel, etc.

Vendor Management: Contract management, renewals, vendor analytics, and strategic sourcing.

Collaboration: Ability to build professional relationships across all levels of the organization (leaders, peers, customers, work groups).

Adaptability: Flexibility to pivot with a shift in priorities.

Self-Driven: Self-driven and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Process Improvement: Ability to design and implement governance frameworks and tooling enhancements.

Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to present ideas clearly.

Problem Solving: Strong analytical and organizational skills to identify cost optimization and ROI opportunities.

Detail-Oriented: Excellent follow-up and time management.

Self-Starter: Able to work independently with minimal direction.

Mentorship: Guide and support staff.

Knowledge:

  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams
  • Dashboards & Reporting – Power BI and Excel (Pivot Tables, Macros)
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure domains including data centers, network/ communications, server utilization, virtual environments, storage, and application development and IT Services
  • Knowledge of financial management processes and best practices such as budgeting, cost allocations, capital, and operating expense processing
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to organize workload, cope with multiple priorities Strong working knowledge of MS Office and data tools such as Adaptive, Power Bi, Service Now
  • Financial ERP and related invoice, payment, financial, vendor management, asset management, and other edge enterprise systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Computer Science, Education, Finance, Information Technology, Business/Administration, Technology, Accounting, or related field

  • Five (5) years or more Information Technology (IT) Planning, PMO, and/or Portfolio functions required

  • MS Office — Excel Pivot tables, Macros, Power Point, SharePoint advanced required

  • Understanding of IT infrastructure domains including data centers, network/ communications, server utilization, virtual environments, storage, and application development and IT Services advanced required

  • Knowledge of financial management processes and best practices such as budgeting, cost allocations, capital, and operating expense processing advanced required

  • Excellent time management skills, ability to organize workload, cope with multiple priorities Strong working knowledge of MS Office and data tools such as Adaptive, Power Bi, Service Now advanced required

  • Financial ERP and related invoice, payment, financial, vendor management, asset management, and other edge enterprise systems intermediate required

  • TBM Certificate

Compensation Information:

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:
