This position will be located Remotely in Puerto Rico. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What You Will Do :

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Contracts professionals—including supervisors, specialists, and analysts—through coaching, hiring, workload planning, performance management, and career development.

  • Oversee execution of the end‑to‑end contracting lifecycle for high‑complexity commercial and U.S. Government agreements, including those governed by FAR/DFARS, government flow‑downs, cybersecurity requirements (NIST 800‑171), and export controls (ITAR/EAR).

  • Serve as the senior escalation point for significant contract issues, guiding the team through risk assessments, negotiation strategies, deviation approvals, and alignment with program, legal, and compliance leadership.

  • Provide strategic contract guidance to business unit leaders, including interpreting contractual obligations, shaping negotiation positions, and identifying business risks and opportunities.

  • Partner closely with Legal Counsel to address complex contractual questions, regulatory considerations, and compliance frameworks relevant to federal and commercial contracting.

  • Facilitate internal and external negotiations with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and cross‑functional teams; represent the Contracts function in leadership‑level discussions supporting strategic business objectives.

  • Oversee the team’s compliance with contract recordkeeping, repository governance, version control, retention policies, and preparation for internal/external audits, including U.S. Government reviews.

  • Ensure timely triage, prioritization, and assignment of contract requests, and remove obstacles to support efficient throughput, SLA adherence, and service quality.

  • Drive continuous improvement across the Contracts function by leading initiatives related to standard work, clause libraries, templates, playbooks, data quality, automation, and metrics reporting.

  • Monitor contract performance across the portfolio to ensure compliance with obligations, flow‑downs, and regulatory requirements; identify and escalate systemic risks or recurring issues.

  • Influence leaders across the enterprise by communicating contract strategy, risk posture, and recommended mitigation actions; collaborate with engineering, program management, supply chain, compliance, and finance leadership.

  • Lead organizational readiness for evolving requirements tied to U.S. Government contracting—such as cybersecurity, supply chain integrity, cost/price analysis expectations, and data‑governance changes.

  • Operate with broad autonomy and strategic decision‑making authority, driving both operational excellence and long‑term capability building within the Contracts team.

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

  • 3+ years of people leadership (direct reports)

  • 5+ years experience managing contract portfolios involving U.S. Government acquisition requirements (FAR/DFARS), flow‑downs, compliance regulations, or federally regulated customers.

  • Experience driving alignment across multiple functions.

  • Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization in English

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience directly managing negotiations or contract strategy for aerospace, defense, or U.S. Government programs.

  • Knowledge of export controls (ITAR/EAR), CUI handling, cybersecurity compliance (NIST 800‑171), supply chain security, and government procurement integrity.

  • Prior experience developing or implementing contracting standard work, process transformations, or digital automation initiatives.

  • Experience working in a large, matrixed global organization supporting cross‑functional alignment across Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management, and Compliance.

  • Familiarity with enterprise CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) systems and contract‑data governance best practices.

  • Juris Doctor or Licenciatura en Derecho from an accredited institution in Puerto Rico or the U.S.

  • Demonstrated experience building, mentoring, and developing diverse contracting teams.
