Community & Social Media Lead

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a passionate, creative, and data-driven Community Social Media Lead to build, scale, and energize Rootstock’s global ecosystem, both online and offline. This role combines community leadership and social media strategy: you’ll nurture and grow our user, developer, and advocate base while amplifying Rootstock’s presence across digital channels and IRL events. You’ll work with a team and external agencies to design and execute programs that bring together people who believe in Bitcoin’s future. Developers building DeFi apps secured by Bitcoin, users putting their BTC to work, and advocates spreading the word globally. You’ll also oversee Rootstock’s social media voice and strategy, crafting content that connects, inspires, and activates. From Discord and Telegram to X and LinkedIn, you’ll ensure every channel feels alive, purposeful, and aligned with Rootstock’s mission.

YOUR IMPACT

• Design and execute a scalable community and social media strategy with clear KPIs tied to engagement, growth, and awareness goals.
• Lead Rootstock’s global community across Discord, Telegram, X and LinkedIn. Ensuring consistent tone, structure, and moderation.
• Oversee and deliver high-impact online and offline events (Twitter Spaces, AMAs, IRL meetups, hackathons) in collaboration with our events team.
• Manage and evolve the Global Ambassador Program. Recruiting, onboarding, activating, and rewarding contributors; establish engagement and reward frameworks.
• Own Rootstock’s social media calendar. Plan and publish content across accounts, amplifying ecosystem updates, product news, and campaigns.
• Create social campaigns that drive measurable engagement, brand sentiment, and community growth. Focusing on developer, builder, and DeFi audiences.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Brand, Growth, DevRel, and Product teams to align content, community, and ecosystem initiatives.
• Use social listening tools to track community sentiment, surface insights, and guide iterative improvements.
• Define and report on metrics that measure success (growth, sentiment, engagement, ambassador activation, content performance).
• Be the voice of the community internally, building feedback loops between users, ambassadors, and Rootstock teams.
• Support senior leadership visibility by amplifying thought leadership and positioning RootstockLabs as a key voice in Bitcoin DeFi.
• Stay ahead of the curve on emerging Web3 trends and adapt strategies accordingly

WHAT YOU BRING

• 5+ years of experience in community management and social media strategy, with at least 2 years in Web3 or blockchain.
• Proven ability to grow and manage online communities that are inclusive, engaged, and aligned with brand voice.
• Experience running community-driven social channels (X, Discord, Telegram, Farcaster) and optimizing them for engagement and retention.
• Track record of building or managing ambassador/advocate programs — from recruitment and activation to reporting results.
• Experience designing and running integrated social media campaigns with measurable business impact.
• Strong understanding of crypto culture, DeFi, and Bitcoin ecosystems. You know what makes Web3 communities tick.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable representing the brand publicly. Hosting AMAs, community calls, or participating in conferences.
• Analytical mindset with experience using social analytics and listening tools (HubSpot, Meltwater, TweetDeck, etc.).
• Self-starter attitude with strong organizational and time management skills. Be able to juggle multiple initiatives across teams and time zones.

Nice to have:

• Multilingual skills beyond English/Spanish.
• Experience working with Bitcoin, DeFi, or EVM-compatible ecosystems.
• Creative eye for visual content and familiarity with briefing designers or freelancers.
• Understanding of influencer or KOL partnerships in Web3.
• Comfortable experimenting with memes, cultural trends, and authentic tone on social channels.
