Our technology platform utilizes sensors, GPS tracking, and highly engaged partner haulers to provide waste management and recycling services and track materials from their source to recycling and composting facilities. Our sustainability experts analyze the data generated by the platform to help our customers make tangible improvements to their waste management and recycling efforts. Ultimately, we are innovating to treat waste as a component material for other products in the circular economy so that as little as possible is deposited into landfills or incinerators.

We are looking for hungry, results oriented, and exceptional salespeople to join our highly successful BD team. We want someone who wants the ability to write their own ticket in an uncapped environment at a company that understands the importance of the Business Development professionals. You have excellent problem-solving skills and you are a self-starter who hates micromanagement and accepts responsibility of your own performance. You are hungry for hunting; in fact you thrive while hunting!. You go above and beyond to be great at what you do. You are resourceful, analytical, and adaptable. You will be responsible for new lead generation, right through to contract signing. If you are a person that always has enjoyed the thrill of signing new business, without the account management, customer service side after it, we need to talk.

What you will be doing:

  • Generating multiple leads in various industries, with an emphasis on clients with gross monthly waste and recycling costs over $5,000 per month before taxes.
  • Planning and managing business development activities using a collaborative strategy in order to acquire new clients.
  • Identifying and targeting new prospects each week using various communication strategies.
  • Lead generation through appropriate propositions, cold calling and ethical sales methods.
  • Attending sales appointments, joint sales calls with VP & EVP and conduct virtual meetings with business prospects.
  • Providing feedback to RTS’s sales team and daily CRM updates to ensure follow-ups are conducted accurately and on time.
  • Using customer and prospect CRM management software and update relevant information held in these systems.
  • Monitoring and reporting on current market conditions, competitive market analysis and provide relevant feedback to management.
  • Attending and presenting at client meetings as well as at other company functions, networking events or as necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
  • Other duties or projects as requested.

Is this you?

“Must Have” Skills/Experience:

  • Clear written and verbal fluency in English.
  • Pure “hunting ability”
  • 3-5 years or more of proven sales experience;
  • Experience in CRM software;
  • Experience working in a fast-paced competitive environment and is results driven and competitive;
  • Excellent client relations skills with the proven ability to form relationships and produce results
  • Strong communication skills: listening, writing, speaking, facilitating meetings;
  • Superior organizational ability and time management skills;
  • Proven track record in prospecting, qualifying and closing accounts over the phone/computer and in person;
  • Ability to provide dynamic presentations and overcome objections;
  • Strong negotiation skills and high emotional intelligence
  • Demonstratable success in a hunting role (past Presidents Club, Circle of Excellence awards etc.)

  

 “Nice to Have” Skills/Experience: 

  • Fluency in French is an asset;
  • Post-Secondary degree/diploma an asset;.
  • Previous experience in outsourced services, 3rd party/brokerage business models or waste & recycling industry is considered an asset;
  • Strong sales experience in B2B and relationship deal making; Contract sales experience is an asset.
  • Possess characteristics of High Emotional Intelligence such as empathy, open-mindedness, transparency, and motivated. Ego strength resilience.
  • Clear written and verbal fluency in French is considered a great asset.

We offer it all. For team members that live in the Metro Vancouver area, we offer a hybrid model so you can mix up your week between your home office and mingling with colleagues at our head office. Not only do we have a cool, LEED Gold office that is dog friendly, we offer some pretty sweet perks too. In your first year, you’ll enjoy 4 weeks of personal paid leave. We offer extended health and dental benefits after 90 days and by the end of year one, you will be eligible for a Health Spending Account.
