Lead Bilingual Mechanical Design Engineer

Leading Japanese Semiconductor production equipment vendor

Responsibilities:

• Support for the development of semiconductor production equipment
• Bridge between customer's development staff and offshore development team
• Review of design/functional specifications to ensure coverage of requirement
• Lead progress meetings with offshore teams and customers, prioritize remaining tasks, etc.
• Quotation and sales support

Requirements:

Must Have

• At least 7 years of experience in equipment design/development
• Understand the customer's design requirements and methodologies and train offshore design team
• Worked on projects from input requirement to final product release (input gathering, concept design, detailed design, and issue resolution).
• Design, develop and modify mechanical engineering layouts, detailed drawings, specifications of complex scope.
• Design experience in machined, sheet metal, weldments, and plastic parts.
• Selection of engineering materials and standards parts based on the application.
• Good knowledge of GD&T and Tolerance stake-up.
• Experience working with 3D CAD, 2D drawings of complex assemblies and engineering documentation of products complying with industrial standards.
• Experienced in CAD tools such as Solid Edge/Solid works/Creo/UG/Catia
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, change management processes and PLM tools.
• Engineering problem identification and troubleshooting a variety of mechanical problems with limited supervision

Good to Have:

• Experience in mechanical design of semiconductor and manufacturing equipment
• Solid Edge / Solid works / UG NX experience
• Experience with Teamcenter or any PLM
• Exposure to safety standards pertaining to Semiconductor equipment industry.
• Experience in vacuum technology, thermodynamics, process chambers, fluid dynamics, pneumatics, pumps, gauges, gas/liquid flow systems, industrial automation is an added advantage
• Knowledge of Mechatronics, system integration, product ownership
• Excellent communication skills to interact with global teams and stakeholders.

Language Skill:

• English Skill - Business Level / TOIEC 700 or above
• Japanese Skill - Native Level
