About Rad AI

We have raised $50+ million to date from venture funds such as Gradient (Google’s AI fund) and ARTIS. We’ve also formed a partnership with Google to collaborate on the future of generative AI to redefine healthcare. Currently, more than 1/3 of radiology groups and healthcare systems, including Kaiser Permanente, HCA Healthcare, and Geisinger, now leverage the latest Gen AI advancements from Rad AI. We're recognized as one of the most promising healthcare AI companies by both CB Insights and AuntMinnie. Come join us in transforming healthcare with AI!

Founded by the youngest US radiologist in history, Rad AI empowers physicians with Al to save time, reduce burnout, and improve the quality of patient care. By combining our deep expertise in healthcare and AI and using one of the largest proprietary radiology report datasets in the world, our AI has uncovered hundreds of new cancer diagnoses for patients and reduced the error rate in tens of millions of radiology reports by nearly 50%.

Why Join Us:

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a passion for building new platforms and core services. As a pivotal founding member of our Core Services team, you'll have the chance to make impactful decisions and implement practices that define the path forward for our Core Services team and our company as a whole. This is a unique early-stage opportunity (~95 employees) where your contributions will significantly shape the future of healthcare technology and our suite of products.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Architect and oversee a robust, scalable platform infrastructure, utilizing virtual machines, container orchestration, and serverless applications.

  • Conduct backend development, including building Rad AI’s backend APIs, server-side services, internal tooling, and public web APIs.

  • Deliver and manage containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate them using Kubernetes within HIPAA-compliant environments.

  • Collaborate with machine learning, data science, and cross-functional teams to refine the platform’s vision, focusing on system reliability and scalability.

  • Develop and enhance engineering tools to improve productivity, with a strong emphasis on automation and system observability.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Proficiency in Object oriented programming principles, open-source tools, and a solid grasp of infrastructure as code practices.

  • Expertise with web frameworks and a thorough understanding of the full life cycle of platform service development.

  • Skilled in microservices-based architecture, RESTful API design, databases (NoSQL/SQL), and scaling such systems effectively.

  • Experience with CI/CD practices, automated testing, and proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Deep knowledge of user management, security, and authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML, JWT), with a focus on infrastructure security best practices.

  • Networking prowess, expertise with cloud services (AWS or GCP preferred), and command-line proficiency in Linux.

  • Own problems end-to-end, and are willing to pick up whatever knowledge you're missing to get the job done.

Nice to Haves:

  • Background in regulated environments, particularly those requiring HIPAA compliance.

  • Familiarity with healthcare standards such as HL7 and radiology workflows.

  • Experience with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry and Graylog.

  • Experience with frontend development applications.

  • Background in big data technologies like Spark and Hadoop.

Come join our world-class team as we build and deploy AI solutions that will make a difference in millions of people’s lives. Our team is mission-driven and focused on transparency, inclusion, close collaboration, and building an incredible team.
