Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to serve as the primary developer and maintainer of our existing web application. This role requires a self-directed professional who can own the complete software development lifecycle while working closely with business stakeholders and end users. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with .NET Core, React applications, and enterprise security implementations.

Responsibilities

Development & Maintenance

• Serve as primary developer and maintainer for existing web application built with ASP.NET Core backend and React frontend with Material UI

• Own end-to-end software lifecycle including design updates, development, testing, deployment, and production support

• Perform bug fixes, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to ensure optimal system stability and availability

• Refactor and modernize legacy code to improve maintainability and performance when feasible

Infrastructure & DevOps

• Manage and maintain deployments on Windows Server using IIS

• Apply security patches, library upgrades, and system updates in a timely manner

• Monitor system health and proactively address potential issues

• Implement and maintain Windows Authentication using Claims/Negotiate protocol

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate with Business Analyst and user base to review feature requests, triage bugs, and establish development priorities

• Function as co-product owner alongside Business Analyst to evaluate incoming requests and establish realistic timelines

• Interact directly with end users to clarify requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver effective solutions

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and workflows

Documentation & Communication

• Write and maintain comprehensive technical documentation

• Provide clear communication on project status, technical challenges, and solutions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related discipline

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with .NET 8.0, ASP.NET Core, and Entity Framework Core

• Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and Material UI framework for front-end development

• Experience with modern front-end tooling including Vite, React Query, and Node.js (LTS)

• Solid understanding of Windows Authentication (Claims/Negotiate protocol) and security best practices

• Proficiency with Visual Studio 2022 (Community or Professional edition) — VS Code will not suffice for Windows Authentication scenarios

• Experience with SQL Server Developer Edition and database management tools (SSMS or Azure Data Studio)

• Understanding of web application architecture and best practices

• Knowledge of version control systems (Git)

• Experience with database management and optimization

Professional Skills

• Proven ability to work independently with minimal oversight

• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills

• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

• Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively

Experience

• 4-7 years of full stack web development experience

• Experience maintaining and enhancing legacy applications

• Background working directly with business stakeholders and end users

• Demonstrated experience in production environment management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with additional AWS services

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools

• Experience with database migrations and schema management

• Background in security best practices for web applications

• Experience with enterprise authentication systems

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this role is $61,350- $78,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. QinetiQ US considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
