Data Analyst 2 position as a part of the Data Team that serves the data expertise needs of the broader Evaluation Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute methodologies, research questions, evaluations and analysis plans. Shows progressive growth in understanding and leadership of quantitative analyses.
  • Visualizes, interprets, reports and communicates data findings creatively.
  • Develops and maintains local databases.
  • Maps and conducts analysis on source data files (varied formats).
  • Provides technical assistance and conducts training in use of data collection tools.
  • Assists in the design, implementation, and monitoring of quality assurance procedures.
  • Works with rest of team to both give and receive guidance, oversight, and development assistance when working with other staff.
  • Facilitates the implementation of research projects and monitors for quality and timely completion.
  • Supports the evaluation team in preparing data requests to access administrative datasets
  • Aids the decision-making process of internal teams by building results that present both insightful data summaries and clear support for conclusions and recommendations.
  • Compiles results and prepare reports, presentations and other documentation of outcomes. Shows consistent growth and independence in complexity and quality of work.
  • Participates in client meetings and communications.
  • Facilitates discussions with client stakeholders, including interpretation of findings, development of reports and disseminating results.
  • Conducts background research for proposal development.
  • Understands both the service delivery system for programs which are administered by states and monitored by federal regulators.

Required Skills

  • Ability to conduct data analysis using SQL, R and/or SPSS.
  • Ability to assist with development of quantitative data collection tools.
  • Able to clearly document findings with relevant supporting details.
  • Able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Report preparation.

Desired Skills

  • Randomized controlled trial experiment design.
  • Subject matter expertise in state and federal requirements.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to mentor more junior staff.
  • Research design.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree preferred in relevant field

  • 2+ years of experience in Mixed Methods evaluations (qualitative/quantitative evaluation skills), 2+ years of experience in conducting research, randomized controlled trials, or program evaluations of social services agencies.

  • Occasional travel to client locations and conferences

As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $63,600-$87,000. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role below. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
