Now hiring a Epic ASSOCIATE INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER!

Presbyterian healthcare is seeking an Epic ASSOCIATE INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER. This is an entry-level role responsible for ensuring training prepares Epic end-users for their work in service to patients and partners in a meaningful, efficient manner.A primary differentiator for this role from Intermediate Instructional Designer is responsibility for updating the assigned educational materials and training environment under direction of Intermediate Instructional Designers, keeping these current with Epic changes. This role validates educational materials are usable by Trainers for both remote and in-person delivery and ensuring education is relevant and valuable for the end-users.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree plus 2 years experience in Training, Information Technology, or Healthcare operations and/or 1-2 years in EHR deployment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required, 3 years experience will be accepted in lieu of degree
  • 2 years professional experience in Training, Information Technology, or Healthcare operations and/or 1-2 years in EHR deployment
  • Completes Instructional Design certification within 1 year in role.
  • Progression within the Career Band reflects increasing depth of professional Epic and Instructional Design core skills, knowledge and ability. Must have minimum of 2 years in Instructional Designer - Associate role to progress to Intermediate.
  • Demonstrates effective coaching, team building, written and verbal communication, training materials development, training delivery, end-user support, and project management skills.Certification/Technical:
  • Current Credentialed Trainer in at least 1 Epic application preferred. Expected to obtain certification within six months of hire. EPIC certification Teach at least one class in each credentialed application annually.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, e-learning, microlearning, remote training management, classroom in-person management

Responsibilities

  • Maintains educational materials current with Epic changes. Ensures educational materials are usable by Credentialed Trainers for both remote and in-person delivery.
  • Completes assigned tasks in learning-related project plans ensuring assigned projects are delivered as requested.
  • Supports testing and design of new functionality and enhancements. Assists with configuring Epic training environment as assigned.
  • Supports deployment of new Epic functionality.
  • Provides application troubleshooting support for Credential Trainers, end-users, and functional partner teams (Clinical Informatics, PMG Informatics, IT Analysts, Clinical Education, Coding, Compliance, Risk, Revenue Cycle, Epic Security and Environments teams and operational partners).
  • Collaborates with Instructional Designers to review post-training survey responses and implement improvements in learning experiences and outcomes.
  • Facilitates train-the-trainer sessions within the Department.
