What began in 2019 as a vision shared between founders Julian Lindinger and Konrad Geiger in Berlin has blossomed into PowerUs, a pivotal force in addressing the skilled labor shortage and driving the green energy transition. The journey started with a recognition of a critical disconnect: while the world was gearing up for a sustainable future with solar panels, wind turbines, and electric vehicles, the very people needed to install and maintain this infrastructure—skilled blue-collar workers—were an overlooked and underserved community. Traditional job platforms were clunky and ineffective for this demographic, and the founders saw an opportunity to build something better, a digital home specifically for these essential professionals.

From its inception, PowerUs was designed to be more than just a job board. It was conceived as a comprehensive career platform, a community where electricians, mechanics, and other technical experts could not only find their next job but also advance their careers, gain new skills, and connect with peers. The initial idea quickly gained traction, attracting the attention of prominent investors like Y Combinator in its early days. This early backing was a crucial stepping stone, allowing the team to build out their platform and prove their concept. A significant milestone was achieved with a €24 million Series B financing round in 2023, led by major players like Eurazeo and General Catalyst. This infusion of capital has empowered PowerUs to expand its reach, now serving over 140,000 registered professionals and partnering with more than 1,000 companies. The platform has become a vital link, connecting skilled workers with opportunities in high-growth sectors like renewable energy, enabling them to find more fulfilling and better-paying roles while directly contributing to a more sustainable future.
