At the heart of gridX's mission is the drive to revolutionize the energy industry, making 100% renewable energy reliable and affordable for everyone. This ambition began as an idea between two friends, David Balensiefen and Andreas Booke, while cycling through Ecuador in 2015. By May 2016, with the addition of Joel Hermanns and an EXIST scholarship, gridX was officially founded. The company's culture is built on the belief that the energy transition requires large-scale use of renewable energies, and they are dedicated to building the necessary infrastructure. They aim to transform today's unresponsive, legacy energy systems by introducing smart, digital solutions to the sector.
