Role Overview

At Planful, our values are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for someone who can bring those values, Customers, Teams, Progress, Intention, and Action, to life across our employee experience. This role isn’t just about running programs; it’s about ensuring that how we communicate, engage, and grow as a company reflects who we are and what we stand for.

As the People Programs & Employee Experience Manager, you’ll own the design and execution of internal initiatives that foster connection, trust, and culture. You’ll collaborate closely across the People team and act as a key cross-functional partner on internal messaging. You’ll be responsible for making sure change is led with care, programs are cohesive and values-aligned, and communications are clear, inclusive, and human.

This is a role for someone who notices what’s missing, asks the right questions, and builds solutions that make things better for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

Cultural Integration and Engagement

  • Ensure our values are visible, felt, and reinforced across every program, policy, and communication.
  • Identify areas where our culture and values may be misaligned and lead efforts to close those gaps.
  • Partner with our People Operations & Engagement Manager to bring engagement survey insights to life through programmatic and cultural improvements.
  • Support and advise Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), co-developing inclusive programming and equitable governance.
  • Activate rituals, campaigns, and experiences that drive connection for both remote and in-office employees.
  • Ensure cultural cohesion across our globally distributed team in the US, Canada, India, the U.K., and Germany

People Programs

  • Own our People Programs calendar and ensure that we are educating and celebrating key events, holidays, and awareness months with intention, joy, and respect.
  • Design and evolve programs across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, recognition, feedback, and offboarding.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and values-aligned onboarding experiences, including the management of welcome swag and milestone gifts.
  • Ensure programs are cohesive and aligned across the broader People team.
Use employee feedback and data to iterate and improve the employee experience with intention.

Change Management

  • Lead thoughtful, inclusive change strategies for programming originating in or impacting the People team
  • Support leaders, managers and business partners through transitions with clear messaging, planning tools, and employee enablement resources.
  • Ensure all change initiatives reflect our values, with a focus on progress, action, and care for our teams.

Internal Communications

  • Act as a trusted voice for internal communications across the company.
  • Partner with the Office of the CEO to support All Hands preparation and other key messaging moments.
  • Lead People team communications, ensuring all messaging is timely, clear, and aligned with our values.
  • Maintain consistency in the People Team language across existing communication channels including Slack & Notion and future channels, such as newsletters or employee digests
  • Develop storytelling strategies that bring people programs to life and drive employee awareness and engagement.

Corporate Social Responsibility & Social Impact

  • Lead or support initiatives that reflect Planful’s commitment to giving back and being a force for good.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to design and promote volunteer opportunities, giving campaigns, and community engagement efforts.
  • Help shape and evolve our approach to CSR in alignment with our values and culture, ensuring programs are inclusive, meaningful, and accessible across our distributed workforce.
  • Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives by integrating DEI principles into program design, communications, and employee engagement efforts.
  • Promote awareness and participation in CSR activities through internal communications and storytelling.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in employee experience, people programs, internal communications, or change management
  • Deep understanding of how to scale people programs and culture in remote or distributed environments
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with a strong instinct for tone, audience, and clarity
  • A strong program management mindset, with the ability to think strategically, execute precisely, and manage up
  • Passion for building equitable, human-centered workplaces that reflect the lived values of the organization
  • High emotional intelligence, curiosity, and a collaborative working style
