Description Overview
Scope 3 emissions within supply chains account for 65–95% of the total carbon impact originating from supply chain activities beyond our direct control.
Location: Dublin. We offer a hybrid working model (3 days per week onsite, 2 days per week working remotely).
Measuring and tracking Scope 3 emissions is an exciting and crucial endeavor for supply chain management and ESG reporting by identifying and influencing:
- Emission Hotspots: By measuring Scope 3 emissions, organizations can identify emission hotspots within their supply chain. This knowledge allows them to focus efforts where they can make the most significant difference.
- Risk Identification: Scope 3 assessment helps identify energy and resource risks across the supply chain. Understanding these risks enables better decision-making and risk mitigation strategies.
- Supplier Insights: Organizations can evaluate suppliers’ sustainability performance by analyzing their Scope 3 emissions. This information helps differentiate between leading and lagging suppliers, fostering collaboration and improvement.
- Cost Reduction Opportunities: Scope 3 analysis reveals key cost reduction opportunities. By addressing emissions from specific suppliers or activities, companies can optimize their supply chain and reduce costs.
- Energy Efficiency: Organizations can identify areas to increase energy efficiency within their supply chain. This not only reduces emissions but also enhances operational efficiency.
- Supplier Engagement: By understanding Scope 3 emissions, companies can support their suppliers in adopting sustainable practices. This collaboration contributes to an acceptable standard of sustainability across the supply chain.
The work done to tackle Scope 3 emissions can strengthen relationships with suppliers, improve collaboration, and potentially lead to cost savings and new revenue-generating opportunities.
