The Technical Project Engineer position is responsible for technical/operational leadership of a project/mission or group of projects/missions within the programmatic guidelines set by the program manager and customer.
Requirements
- Review project proposals and plans to define objectives and align with management expectations.
- Break projects into phases and tasks, assign responsibilities, and coordinate with internal teams and contractors.
- Analyze product designs, customer requirements, and performance standards to determine project specifications.
- Conduct technical studies and prepare cost estimates for project planning.
- Design and perform tests to confirm product performance and quality.
- Develop and maintain project schedules by calculating timelines, sequencing tasks, and monitoring progress.
- Coordinate activities across teams and resolve issues to keep the project on track.
- Review design, specifications, and schedule changes to recommend appropriate actions.
- Manage project costs by approving expenditures and overseeing contractor contracts.
- Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing progress, trends, and recommendations.
- Provide technical and operational leadership within program guidelines, ensuring project objectives are met.
- Define, generate, and review project requirements documentation.
- Perform technical studies to refine and clarify project requirements.
- Monitor project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure objectives are clearly defined and maintained.
- Coordinate between resource managers and supervisors, ensuring all necessary reviews and approvals are completed.
- Conduct performance or project analyses during phase-down to provide insights for future projects, missions, or programs.
