Recently we have made it a priority to leverage advancements in AI in both weather forecasting as well as predicting weather based demand across multiple industries, from retail to energy. At the same time we’re advancing our ad tech solutions with GenAI.
WHY WE NEED YOU? GLAD YOU ASKED...As a data scientist at Pelmorex you will have the opportunity to work on a very diverse set of projects in various business units. These include product demand forecasting based on weather in our B2B business, utilizing Deep Learning in weather prediction, and various ad-tech solutions from improved audience targeting to advanced location insights
Please Note, this is a remote position and we are only considering candidates who are eligible to work in Canada and can work Eastern Standard Hours (EST)
WHAT IS THE DAY TO DAY LOOK LIKE
- Apply ML at scale in various revenue generating projects
- Develop innovative algorithms that provide best-in-class solutions for audience targeting and attribution and weather based demand forecasting in a variety of industries
- Brainstorm and create powerful visualizations that makes data accessible and understandable;
- Utilize the latest advancements in GenAI to produce client facing summaries that can monetize our various prediction algorithms
- Contribute with development best practices and experiment with new ideas;
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify creative solutions for data targeting, and plan and execute key products from concept to production
WE ARE HOPING YOU HAVE:
- Degree in one of the STEM disciplines (preferably minimum MSc but not required)
- 2+ years of data science experience in industry
- Experience developing ML solutions in industry or research
- Strong and fundamental understanding of statistics Solid understanding of ML and it's application in a variety of use casesSQL
- Coding experience (python or java, etc)
- Scientific computing: Numpy, Scipy, Scikit-learn, etc
- Experience with distributed computing environments (spark for example)
- Skills in graphical data visualization (Matplotlib or similar)
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas to an audience with a non-technical background
YOU ARE MADE FOR THIS IF YOU...
- Experience developing Deep Learning solutions in industry/research.
- Bonus if this experience is applied to large datasets where distributed data frameworks are necessary
