About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant with expertise in property management accounting. The ideal candidate is a U.S. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) with at least 3+ years of senior-level accounting experience in the real estate/property management industry, including direct U.S. accounting experience.
This role is client-facing, requiring excellent communication skills to collaborate with property owners, managers, and stakeholders while ensuring accurate financial management.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage daily accounting operations for property management portfolios.
Prepare and review financial statements, monthly reports, and variance analyses.
Handle bank, tenant ledger, and general ledger reconciliations.
Ensure full compliance with U.S. GAAP and property management accounting standards.
Communicate directly with clients, providing financial updates and addressing inquiries.
Collaborate with property managers, owners, and external auditors.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.
Qualifications
U.S. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
Minimum 3 years of U.S. accounting experience (must-have).
At least 3 years of senior-level accounting experience in property management.
Strong knowledge of accounting software and property management systems (e.g., AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium).
Proven client communication and relationship management skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing multi-property portfolios or working with HOAs/real estate/property management firms.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
CPA or additional certifications are a strong advantage.
