About Obsidian Systems LLC
We build products differently. And we'll do it in 10 weeks. Ali and Ryan founded Obsidian Systems in 2014, after graduating from Harvard Law and spending several years working with tech startups in Boston and New York City. The waste we saw during those years convinced us that there had to be a better way to build products, and this conviction is part of everything we do at Obsidian. It informs our technology choices and our investments in open source. Most importantly, it effects how we build products.
We are a software consultancy specializing in building great products on technologies that promote quality and rapid iteration. We are the primary authors and maintainers of reflex-frp, an ecosystem for functional reactive programming; obelisk, a framework and tool for full-stack Haskell applications; and alamgu, an ecosystem for building hardware ledger applications. We do a lot of open source work, primarily in Nix, Haskell, and Rust. Our (not so) secret weapon is a finely honed platform that supports crazy fast dev time.
