Job Summary:
The Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Operational Readiness will be responsible for managing and expanding critical partnerships in NA while creating a programmatic approach to ensure business objectives are consistently met. This role requires a seasoned leader with a deep network in the North American payments industry who can drive strategic initiatives, optimize key relationships, and support the company's growth objectives. The ideal candidate will be hands-on in managing key client applications through the approval process and bank review and ensuring alignment between financial partners and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partner Management:
    • Collaborate cross-functionally and act as a senior operational representative for Nuvei’s banking and payment partners as they relate to NA operations, ensuring alignment, service delivery, and support for joint initiatives.
    • Ensure our key partnerships remain aligned with client needs and growth strategy for North America. Navigate complex regulatory and operational requirements to ensure compliance and market readiness.
    • Partner with cross functional Global Expansion team to relationship manage alternative payment method providers in NA to bolster our service offerings and better serve evolving market demands.
    • Identify strategic opportunities for collaboration that drive growth and market expansion
  • Client Enablement and Go-Live Leadership:
    • Actively manage and oversee key client applications, ensuring a smooth and efficient process that aligns with business needs.
    • Act as the primary escalation point for key client-related issues during the onboarding process.
    • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Compliance, Risk/UW, Schemes and Operations teams to ensure key partnerships support business goals and market expansion.
    • Cultivate and manage relationships with key vendors and alternative payment providers to enhance our solution offerings.
    • Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends to anticipate and adapt to evolving industry requirements.
  • Program Development Execution:
    • Establish performance metrics and conduct regular reviews to assess the effectiveness of strategic partnerships for Nuvei’s growth projections.
    • Provide senior leadership with insights and recommendations on strategic partner performance, industry trends, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Drive initiatives to reduce friction and accelerate market entry for strategic clients.
  • Innovation Operational Market Readiness:
    • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and optimize the onboarding experience for new third-party relationships: banking, payment provider or service provider.
    • Develop clear frameworks for operational readiness, focusing on reducing fragmentation and barriers typical of the North American landscape.
    • Lead internal preparation for client-related changes, ensuring all teams are equipped to support new services and operational models.
    • Drive initiatives to reduce friction and accelerate market entry for strategic clients

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 15+ years of experience in the payments industry, with significant experience in key areas like compliance, regulated and complex industries, strategic verticals, enterprise clients and sponsor bank relationships.
    • Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining a broad network within the North American payments landscape.
    • Proven track record managing relationships with critical partners in NA such as processors, payment providers, and bank sponsors.
    • Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and align operational execution with compliance requirements.
    • Proven success in complex market environments, specifically in North America’s fragmented regulatory landscape.
  • Skills:
    • Hands-on approach to managing key client applications through the bank review process, while ensuring a balanced mix of business types.
    • Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and align strategic relationships with business strategy
    • Operational Readiness
    • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and pursue innovative payment solutions.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications is a plus.
