The ideal candidate for this role will bring a strong background in Finance and Compliance, enhanced by direct, recent experience in web3 technologies from leading protocols or significant web3 projects. This role is designed to lead our financial strategy and operations to leverage the unique opportunities presented by web3. The role involves intricate treasury management, ensuring regulatory compliance, and forging effective collaborations within the web3 ecosystem alongside traditional financial systems. The ideal candidate will offer crucial insights and innovative approaches to drive Nillion's growth, armed with a track record of managing digital asset markets and adhering to evolving regulatory landscapes. This position is for a strategic thinker who can blend financial expertise with a deep operational understanding of web3 technologies, aiming to position Nillion at the forefront of the industry.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in a senior treasury or financial role, ideally within the web3, blockchain, or digital asset sectors.
• Experienced and comfortable executing individually and eventually putting together a team
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CTP, CPA) preferred.
• Strong analytical, strategic planning, and leadership skills.
• Deep understanding of web3 protocols, digital assets, and the financial landscape in Europe.
• Based in Europe, non-US person due to regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrable success in managing complex financial operations in Web3 companies, including treasury functions, with a strong emphasis on innovation and compliance in the Web3 space.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the relationship between a crypto foundation/association and development companies working on a common web3 project
• Advanced understanding of blockchain technologies, cryptocurrency transactions, security protocols, and familiarity with Multi-Party Computation (MPC) tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic management of the network's treasury, focusing on asset optimization, risk mitigation, and ensuring liquidity to support operational and strategic needs (Including both fiat and crypto assets).
• Manage and execute the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with strategic objectives. This includes budgeting, financial forecasting, cash management, and reconciliation of assets.
• Identify financial risks associated with crypto and foreign currency exposure, implementing effective hedging and risk mitigation strategies.
• Develop a comprehensive risk management framework tailored to the unique challenges of the digital asset space.
• Drive strategic financial planning, leveraging deep insights into web3 protocols and market trends to advise on liquidity, investment, and growth strategies.
• Provide accurate financial reports to the board, highlighting treasury performance, risk management, and strategic recommendations.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant European financial regulations and standards, particularly those relating to web3 protocols.
• Manage relationships with banks, external partners, and stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and compliance.
• Mentor and develop team members, ensuring they are proficient in leveraging web3 technologies for treasury and financial operations.
