About the Company
Our client is a major UK consumer goods business headquartered in London, with a portfolio of well-known household brands sold across grocery, pharmacy, and direct-to-consumer channels. With revenues of £1.2bn and a digital transformation underway, the business is investing in its insights and analytics capability to drive more data-led commercial decision making. The Customer Insights team sits at the intersection of Marketing, Sales, and Strategy.
The Role
As Customer Insights Manager, you will own the generation and communication of customer and consumer insights that directly inform brand strategy, commercial planning, and product development. You will combine quantitative and qualitative research methods to build a deep understanding of who the company's customers are, what they value, and how their behaviour is changing.
What You'll Do
Design and deliver customer research programmes, including surveys, focus groups, ethnography, and digital behavioural analysis.
Synthesise data from multiple sources, including POS data, loyalty schemes, social listening, and panel research, into coherent, actionable insights.
Partner with Brand, Sales, and Product teams to embed customer insight into strategic and commercial decisions.
Track shifts in customer sentiment, purchase behaviour, and market trends, and proactively flag emerging opportunities and risks.
Build and maintain customer segmentation frameworks that underpin targeting, messaging, and portfolio decisions.
What We're Looking For
5–8 years of experience in customer insights, market research, or consumer analytics, ideally within a consumer goods, retail, or FMCG context.
Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, with the ability to design methodologies appropriate to the business question.
Confident communicator, able to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
Commercially aware and curious, genuinely interested in understanding consumer behaviour and its business implications.
Experience with research tools (e.g., Qualtrics, Kantar, NielsenIQ) is an advantage.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary of £70,000 – £90,000, depending on experience.
Annual performance bonus.
Defined contribution pension with enhanced employer contribution.
Private health cover, 27 days holiday, and hybrid working from London.
