The story of Nevados is one of born from necessity and a drive for innovation in the burgeoning solar industry. It began with a vision to overcome a significant and costly hurdle in utility-scale solar development: the need for flat, graded land. Founder and CEO, Yezin Taha, a seasoned professional in the energy sector, recognized that as the demand for solar energy surged, the availability of ideal, level terrain was rapidly diminishing. This scarcity forced developers into expensive and environmentally disruptive land grading practices, which not only inflated project costs and timelines but also damaged the natural landscape. This challenge sparked the central idea behind Nevados: what if solar installations could adapt to the land, rather than forcing the land to adapt to them? This question became the company's guiding principle and the catalyst for its journey.

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Oakland, California, Nevados embarked on a mission to re-engineer the solar tracker from the ground up. After years of intensive research and development, supported in part by funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, the company unveiled its groundbreaking solution: the All-Terrain Tracker (ATT). This innovative system utilizes a unique design with articulating joints and a segmented torque tube, allowing it to follow the natural contours of sloped and rolling hills. This breakthrough technology effectively eliminates the need for extensive grading, preserving topsoil, minimizing environmental impact, and opening up vast new areas for solar development that were previously considered unsuitable.
