They are seeking a Distributed Systems Engineer (L5) to join their Application Networking Group, responsible for the communication backbone for cloud services, including edge gateways and services handling internet traffic. This role involves building and operating a data plane and control plane to improve security, observability, and resilience.

Requirements

Building and operating highly reliable distributed systems in a cloud environment.
Understanding of Service Mesh technologies like Envoy and Istio.
Experience with performance optimization for Service Mesh.
Deep understanding of gRPC.
Understanding of security concerns like DDoS, TLS, authentication, and authorization.
