Moishe House

Moishe House is an international non-profit organization and Jewish outreach initiative designed for Jewish young adults in their 20s and early 30s. Founded in 2006 by David Cygielman and philanthropist Morris Bear Squire in Oakland, California, Moishe House aims to create vibrant Jewish communities across the globe. With the understanding that this demographic often finds themselves caught between college programming and familial responsibilities, Moishe House provides a unique opportunity for peers to connect and shape their own Jewish identities through community building.

The initial success of their first Shabbat dinner, which attracted 73 young adults, sparked the model that Moishe House operates on today—residents living together and hosting Jewish programs for their community. Over the years, Moishe House has expanded significantly, now boasting more than 100 houses in over 25 countries, engaging thousands of Jewish young adults in community-driven initiatives. As of 2025, the organization transitioned to operate under the umbrella of Mem Global, continuing to focus on the principles of leadership, relationship-building, and authenticity in Jewish life.
