MoeGo's story began with a personal frustration experienced by its founder and CEO, Ethan Dong. As a busy dog dad, Ethan found scheduling grooming appointments for his pet to be a cumbersome and inefficient process. He questioned why a more streamlined, digital solution, akin to 'OpenTable for Pet Business,' didn't exist. This initial thought sparked a deeper investigation. Ethan, along with his partner, sketched out mockups for a pet business software and embarked on a journey of visiting over 50 local pet grooming shops. Through in-depth conversations with groomers, he uncovered significant pain points in the industry: overwhelming daily operations for multi-tasking owners, the negative impact of poor management on customer satisfaction and business success, and the prevalence of outdated, user-unfriendly software that often ignored groomers' valuable feedback. These insights solidified Ethan's resolve to create a solution that would genuinely serve the needs of pet care professionals.
Launched in late 2019, MoeGo was envisioned to reshape the technology infrastructure of the burgeoning pet economy. The team, largely composed of pet owners themselves, empathized deeply with the challenges faced by their customers. This empathy translated into a commitment to building high-quality software and providing exceptional customer support, treating their clients as integral parts of the MoeGo team. They actively sought feedback, even creating a Facebook community led by their Chief Customer Success Officer, MoeGo Lily, to foster direct communication and gather insights. This dedication to understanding and addressing the real-world needs of pet businesses, from individual groomers to multi-location franchises, has been a cornerstone of MoeGo's philosophy.
