Meet Easyplant - who we are?
As part of our mission to make home design frictionless, we understood that plants are the worst home design product that dies constantly. We knew this was an engineering issue, and we forged our focus toward a mission to prevent plants from dying. Hence, we invested 2 years and developed a self-watering system that prevents plants from dying.
What you're applying for
Easyplant launched just a couple of years ago and is already one of the fastest-growing e-commerce companies and the leading direct-to-consumer (D2C) plant company in the US, with hundreds of thousands of plants sold.
We’ve now decided to start with our physical retail journey, as we believe being available both online and physically is crucial for our growth and success. We strive to create the best omnichannel experience, and plan on launching multiple stores in 2024, and hopefully scale significantly from 2025 onwards.
We are looking for a Head of Retail to lead our retail expansion in the US. We need a retail expert with a strategic and analytical mindset to scale operations effectively. If you have experience launching retail ventures, your skills in strategic planning and analytical decision-making will be pivotal in this role.
In this role you'll
- Craft and execute a retail strategy that reflects easyplant's mission and goals. Conduct detailed market and consumer research to identify prime locations, enhance customer experience, and refine our product offerings for sustainable store growth
- Oversee the entire process of store set-up, from location scouting and lease negotiations to store design and setup.
- Hire, train, and manage retail teams, setting high standards for service and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to drive traffic and sales through innovative promotional strategies and events.
- Analyze market trends and customer insights to optimize offerings and enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Manage P&L for retail operations; develop and control budgets to ensure profitability.
- Coordinate with supply chain and inventory teams to ensure optimal stock levels and product availability.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the retail teams.
- Report on retail operations performance, with a focus on analytics and metrics to guide business decisions.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in retail management, ideally with a background in launching and scaling retail operations.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in budget management, project management and retail analytics.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel to the company’s HQ (Israel), or, if the candidate is from Israel, travel frequently to the US.
