Senior Frontend Graphics Engineer – Three.js & WebGPU
Summary
This role requires a senior-level frontend graphics engineer who is comfortable operating close to the GPU while still delivering maintainable, production-ready web applications. It is ideal for engineers with experience in real-time graphics, advanced visualization, or game-adjacent technologies, looking to build cutting-edge 3D experiences directly in the browser.
Requirements
Must-Have Technical Skills
- 7+ years of frontend or graphics engineering experience
- Strong JavaScript / TypeScript expertise
- Deep experience with Three.js in production environments
- Hands-on experience with WebGPU or low-level graphics APIs (Vulkan, Metal, DirectX 12)
- Shader programming experience (WGSL and/or GLSL)
- Solid understanding of GPU rendering pipelines and graphics fundamentals
- Performance optimization for real-time graphics
- Experience working with modern build tools and frontend workflows
Experience Requirements
- Proven track record delivering complex 3D web experiences
- Experience pushing beyond high-level abstractions when performance or flexibility requires it
- Ability to design and maintain scalable, maintainable rendering architectures
- Experience debugging and profiling GPU-related performance issues
- Familiarity with cross-browser and cross-device constraints for 3D applications
Nice-to-Haves
- Physics or simulation systems (ammo.js, rapier, custom GPU simulations)
- Math-heavy graphics background (linear algebra, quaternions, transforms)
- Experience in gaming, visualization, simulation, or data-driven graphics
- Familiarity with WebXR (AR/VR)
- Experience contributing to graphics libraries or open-source projects
- Exposure to procedural generation techniques
