What this position entails

IntelliScript’s IT organization has been a key part of our past success and is critical to our future. The DevOps Engineer II position will be crucial in supporting the application lifecycle strategy and supporting the execution of the organization's vision for IntelliScript’s industry-leading software projects. Working closely with the Cloud Engineering, Information Security, and Software Engineering teams, this person will act as a DevOps Technical Support Engineer. In this role, you will support the team by handling triage and troubleshooting of ad-hoc requests to reduce the burden on the DevOps team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to fully break into the DevOps space, with opportunities to grow through the DevOps Engineering career path over time.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide support for our developer platforms as we perform large-scale migrations
  • Continually work towards making improvements in developer experience, and enhancing the software delivery process through championing our best-practices
  • Implement a CI/CD pipeline, consisting of the capabilities needed to build, test, integrate, monitor, and deploy software in a self-service, secure, and repeatable fashion
  • Support the team by handling triage and troubleshooting of ad-hoc requests
  • Collaborate on configuration management methodologies and technologies
  • Enhance security and governance in the Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) via automated compliance checkpoints and stage gates
  • Promote development best practices and facilitate collaboration between development, operations, cloud engineering and other IT teams

What we need

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Exposure to DevOps tooling & practices (Git, CI-CD orchestration software, configuration-as-code, developing/improving the SDLC process)
  • Experience with:
    • Git
    • Bash/PowerShell
    • Azure DevOps
    • CI/CD Pipelines
    • Docker
    • Terraform
  • Familiarity with Atlassian suite of products (Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Ability to ramp up quickly on both new technologies and existing technologies
  • Excellent technical design, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent collaborative skills, with strong written and verbal communication
  • Self-motivated team player who can run with a project and is willing to pitch in as needed

  • Experience with:
    • GitHub
    • SonarQube (familiarity with concepts of SAST tooling at a minimum)
    • Artifactory (familiarity with concepts of artifact management at a minimum)
    • .NET / C# / Python / Go / etc. (ability to interpret OOP at a minimum)
    • Experience consuming REST APIs
    • Experience with Ansible, Packer, and/or other IaC tools
  • Experience with Scaled Agile concepts and principles

Location

This position will be based out of the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI; however, this position is open to remote work. Applicants must be willing to travel to the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI for quarterly PI Planning meetings and one annual company meeting. This expected application deadline for this job is July 31, 2025.

Compensation

The overall salary range for this role is $78,800 - $151,440. For candidates residing in:

  • Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the salary range is $86,680 - $138,820.
  • New York City, Newark, San Jose, or San Francisco the salary range is $94,560 - $151,440.
  • All other locations the salary range is $78,880 - $126,200.

A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.
