Mapbox is seeking a Software Development Engineer II (SDEII) to build and deliver internal data tools, pipelines, and platforms within the Data Platform team. This role focuses on improving the foundation of Mapbox's offerings, serving as a connector between internal teams and customers through external products. The team supports 300+ engineers across the US and Canada, working both remotely and asynchronously.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining internal tools and services on AWS
  • Experience with some or all of our tech stack: Node.js, Python, Spark, Airflow, and AWS (including Lambda, EMR, ECS and Kinesis)
  • Experience with distributed systems at scale
  • Track record of building self-service and high-quality tools for developers with a customer-driven mindset
  • A desire to share your expertise through documentation, mentorship, and discussion
