Senior IT Project Manager (Remote, Contract)

ManpowerGroup Greece, on behalf of its client, is looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to work in overseas Project. The role is 100% remote (you need to have Greece as a basis). Our client is US based and they specialize in Insurance & Marine Services The position reports to the Portfolio Manager is responsible for successful delivery of project initiatives and executes business plan projects that enable realization of the strategic objectives and tactical business plan goals.

It is an initial 6 months Contract with the option to be extended for 6/12 extra months. Hiring will be via ManpowerGroup Greece

Projects will be mainly Software Development or System Integration related and our client prefers Waterfall approach.

Role's Duties

• Leads and oversees the entire lifecycle of IT projects
• Effectively manages up to three (3) or more projects concurrently, taking into account project complexity, duration, and phase. Most projects are completed within 6 – 8 months, with an average value of $150k
• Coordinates a project team consisting of matrixed resources, adept at resolving resource and schedule challenges inherent in matrixed organizations
• Creates an effort-driven and auto-scheduled project schedule using MS Project/Project Server
• Ensures alignment between planned project hours and actual time reported on time cards, actively investigating and addressing any variances
• Maintains and reconciles project financial forecasts, proactively managing discrepancies between forecasted and actual costs. Releases excess project funds when unnecessary or requests additional funding for baseline changes
• Creates a comprehensive Initial Charter that provides a high-level overview of the project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables, including the target completion date and cost
• Utilizes established Project Change Request processes to proactively manage approved baseline changes
• Identifies and addresses project risks, issues, assumptions, and decisions, escalating when necessary
• Monitors and controls the Execution phase, collaborating with the QA Lead to ensure adequate testing environments, test plans, and strategies are in place. May also coordinate UAT planning and execution activities
• Collaborates with the project team to prepare a deployment plan, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained for migrating the project solution from lower environments to production
• Ensures smooth service transition activities from development teams to operations teams
• Closes projects accurately by preparing a Project Close Summary Report and updating the project plan in the PPM tool
• Provides regular and comprehensive project status reports bi-monthly, offering clear updates on project progress.

Requirements

• 5 to 7+ years of current project management experience, delivering IT projects with a minimum budget of $150K.

• Has successfully delivered IT projects from start to finish with timelines less than 1 year.

• Familiar with or has used effort-driven project planning techniques in MS Project.

• Demonstrates high-levels of capability in all project management competencies, including: planning, executing, monitoring and controlling of IT projects.

• Must have experience with MS Project 2016; MS Project Server is desired but not required.

• Experience managing vendors, requesting and executing SOWs.
• Exercises strong leadership capabilities; presents “executive presence” – especially when delivering difficult messages to stakeholders and leaders; calm and collected under pressure; takes accountability for entire project and outcomes
• PMP credential in good standing or plans to obtain PMP within 12 months

• Experience directly managing and forecasting project financials (reconciling invoices, timekeeping, etc.)
