The PAYROLL CONSULTANT OpportunityWe are actively seeking a PART TIME PAYROLL CONSULTANT to support our client in: enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of the client's current payroll process. The Payroll Consultant play an integral part in supporting the LHR team in reviewing payroll workflows, identifying optimization opportunities, and recommending process improvements.

Impact

  • Partner with the LHR Project Team to support the client in: enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of the client's current payroll process.
  • Review existing payroll process documentation, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Observe payroll preparation and processing, including weekly and bi-weekly payroll runs.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews with payroll staff, HR, finance, and operations to understand pain points and dependencies.
  • Analyze payroll system functionality and integrations with other HR and financial systems.
  • Gather payroll processing time and effort data to establish a baseline.
  • Develop detailed process improvement maps, document key dependencies, validate findings, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Support LHR team in identifying areas for automation.
  • Define, outline, and develop comms plan for payroll process changes.
  • Execute strong time management skills and organization that ensures assigned deadlines and budgets are met
  • Research and present information and ideas to assist in team and client decision-making processes.
  • Independently manage and execute multiple project assignments, ensuring quality deliverables are produced on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in management consulting, HR consulting, payroll consulting, or technical project management.
  • Strong understanding of payroll systems and software (e.g., ADP, Paychex).
  • Ability to communicate, document, and navigate multiple projects and stakeholders at once.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment.
  • Experience implementing and /or optimizing payroll systems and tools.
  • Familiarity with payroll documentation, policy and compliance requirements.
