The story of Limitless is a compelling journey of evolution, driven by a profound and personal mission. It all began with Dan Siroker, the company's co-founder and CEO, and a moment of personal revelation. After experiencing the magic of a hearing aid for the first time and regaining a lost sense, he became captivated by the potential of technology to augment human capabilities and grant us what he describes as 'superpowers'. This fascination sparked a decade-long quest to find ways to overcome our biological limitations, a quest that would ultimately lead to the creation of Limitless. The company's initial incarnation, Scribe, was born in the midst of the 2020 pandemic. As the world shifted to remote work and Zoom meetings became the norm, Scribe aimed to transcribe these conversations to make them more useful and shareable. However, the team soon realized this was a crowded space.

This led to a significant pivot and the birth of Rewind, a product that expanded the scope of capture beyond just meetings to everything a user saw, said, or heard on their Mac, with a strong emphasis on local data privacy. This move was inspired by the advent of Apple's M1 chip, which made local processing more powerful. The learnings from Rewind were invaluable. The team discovered the immense potential of having a comprehensive, private record of one's digital life. This realization, coupled with advancements in large language models, paved the way for the next and current chapter: Limitless. The company rebranded and expanded its vision to not only capture the digital world but also the physical one through a wearable AI-powered pendant. Today, Limitless is dedicated to creating a personalized AI that is powered by an individual's entire history of sights, sounds, and conversations, with the ambitious goal of freeing the human mind from its biological constraints and augmenting our intelligence, not replacing it.
