Leidos is seeking (Remote) Senior Software Testing Automation Engineers to support the Voice Development team. As a Software Testing Engineer you will be responsible for creation and execution of system, functional and non-functional tests. You will collaborate with R&D, System Engineering and Support teams to find the best technical solution that suits the business needs.

These are contingent positions, pending award.

Primarily Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility over the quality of the product
  • Take ownership of day-to-day quality issues and escalation
  • Develop and maintain an array of relevant user scenarios, test-cases, and checklists
  • Manually execute functional and non-functional tests
  • Implement automated test cases wherever this is suitable / efficient
  • Drive best practices for test automation, test execution and test management
  • Report and track defects, working closely with developers to resolve issues
  • Design, deploy and maintain the internal infrastructure needed for testing
  • Continuously improve test automation processes and frameworks
  • Create and maintain test documentation and reports
  • Analyze real-world customers issues, identify their root cause and offer the best solution

Typical Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science or similar field and at least 5 years' experience testing solutions and software products, including installing and configuring LINUX operating systems and applications, scripting and collecting system / application logs
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, tool and processes
  • Experience with test automation frameworks, including Behavior Driven Development
  • Selenium WebDriver knowledge
  • Strong experience in using programming / scripting languages – Python and Bash scripting and Python for Object oriented programming
  • Knowledge of version control systems (eg Git, SVN)
  • Experience in the use and administration of virtualization platforms (i.e. VMware, OpenStack, Proxmox)
  • Experience in the use and administration of CI/CD tools (i.e. TeamCity, Jenkins, Gitlab)
  • Telecommunication knowledge and a good understanding of VoIP related protocols
  • IDE – squish / gammaray or other similar tools for qt/qml GUI testing
  • Solid understanding of SQL queries and database concepts
  • Management of tests and issues in Jira, TestLink or Redmine

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. Must have lived in the U.S. for three of the last five years.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00

Leidos' story begins in 1969 when Dr. J. Robert Beyster, a visionary scientist, founded Science Applications Incorporated (SAI) in La Jolla, San Diego, California. A pivotal moment arrived in 2013 when SAIC underwent a significant transformation, splitting into two independent, publicly traded companies: a new company retaining the SAIC name and the original company, which was rebranded as Leidos (a name derived from 'kaleidoscope'). Leidos, as the legal successor to the original SAIC, inherited its pre-2013 stock price and corporate filing history and established its new headquarters in Reston, Virginia. This strategic move allowed Leidos to sharpen its focus on national security, health, and engineering solutions. Another major milestone occurred in August 2016 when Leidos merged with Lockheed Martin's Information Systems & Global Solutions (IS&GS) business, a landmark transaction that created the defense industry's largest IT services provider and significantly expanded Leidos' capabilities and market share. Today, Leidos stands as a Fortune 500® global science and technology leader, employing approximately 47,000 people worldwide and generating billions in annual revenue, committed to making the world safer, healthier, and more efficient through innovation and technology.
