Labcorp is seeking a Medical Coder to join our team in the Histology dept. This role can be remote.

**Pay Range: $24 - $26 per hour
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills andpriorrelevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday

Job Responsibilities
Reviews and assigns the appropriate ICD-9-CM coding to medical diagnosis, procedures and services.
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of computers, word processing software and dictation equipment
Gains knowledge of department procedures and operations.
Integrates medical coding and reimbursement rule changes into a practice reimbursement process.
Review transcription documents for quality assurance and precision to spot and correct any errors that could impact patient care and medical liability
Identifies problems, determines and provides/implements appropriate corrective action/accurate solutions
Researches, troubleshoots, and follows up to ensure all inquiries/problems are resolved in a timely manner
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalentrequired
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology necessary to correct code provider diagnosis and services preferred
Strong attention to detail
Previous transcriptionist experience preferred
Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced and changing team environment Excellent organizational and communication skills
Prior experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office or hospital is preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs isrequired
Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills
Strong flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly
