We are seeking a General Ledger Accountant at Vanta to support the Accounting team by performing routine and recurring accounting activities with accuracy, timeliness, and strong attention to detail. This role is responsible for daily transactional processing, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and supporting internal reporting requirements. The ideal candidate has experience supporting US-based organizations and is comfortable operating within US GAAP.
As a General Ledger Accountant, youll report to the Manager, General Ledger Accounting and contribute significantly to our dynamic and rapidly expanding team.

- Prepare daily and monthly journal entries in accordance with US GAAP.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Perform account reconciliations, including cash, prepaid expenses, credit card liability, and other accounts as assigned.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:- Support preparation of internal financial reports and schedules.
- Assist with variance analysis and provide explanations for fluctuations.
- Help maintain documentation for internal controls and audit purposes.
- Compliance & Audit Support:
- Prepare audit support schedules and gather documentation for external auditors.
- Maintain compliance with internal accounting policies, controls, and procedures.
- Support tax or regulatory filings as needed.
- Operational Support:
- Participate in process improvements to streamline accounting operations.
- Maintain organized and well-documented accounting files.
- Assist with ad hoc projects, financial analysis, and reporting tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1-3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a SaaS or high-growth technology company.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite).
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with a customer-first mindset.
- Proven ability to handle a high volume of complex tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Comfortable in a dynamic environment with frequent changes and process evolution.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Expectation to work U.S. core business hours.
