The role
The role of a Senior Optimizely (Episerver) Developer within Kin + Carta's Optimizely Platform practice is a senior-level position focused on crafting top-tier solutions for clients and overseeing the ongoing technical excellence of a delivery team. This position requires a profound grasp of the software development life cycle, and Optimizely's best development practices. You should be a proficient Optimizely developer, ready to tackle any technical challenge or task with assurance and effectiveness.
Role responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Develop websites using Optimizely CMS to meet business objectives and user needs with a keen focus on scalability, performance, and ease of use.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as design, analytics, product, and content and provide technical oversight and direction to each.
- Implement and enforce best practices for code standards, review, testing, and deployment processes to ensure the highest quality of deliverables.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices for the Optimizely platform and CMS development in general and apply them to improve current processes and methodologies.
- Provide estimates for development efforts and offer specific recommendations for scope and approach adjustments based on the project needs.
Minimum qualifications

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels
- Expert-level knowledge of the Optimizely CMS Platform including the Content Delivery API
- 8+ years of development experience on the Microsoft ASP.NET stack
- 4+ years of Optimizely (formerly known as Episerver) CMS development experience
- Solid understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks/libraries (React preferred)
- Experience building headless CMS solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated history of success as a lead developer on various projects
- Highly skilled in Git and accustomed to standard development procedures
Preferred qualifications
- Optimizely Developer Certification highly desirable
- Experience managing teams including mentoring and providing feedback
- Proficiency in DevOps tools and methodologies
- Openness to adapt to new scenarios and embrace challenges
Compensation
This is a full time position. The salary range offered for this position is $130,000-$175,000 annually, depending on experience.
