Julep Media's story is one of rapid ascent, strategic internationalization, and a bold return to independence. Founded in Munich in 2019 by a team of media veterans including Marcus Englert, Sebastian Weil, Björn Jopen, and Manfred Neumann, the company was established with a clear mission: to professionalize and democratize the fragmented podcast market in Germany. Recognizing the immense potential of audio content, Julep quickly built a comprehensive ecosystem that offered not just advertising solutions, but also production and hosting services, effectively bridging the gap between podcasters and advertisers.

The company's innovative approach and rapid growth caught the attention of global players, leading to its acquisition in 2022 by Liberated Syndication (Libsyn), a US-based podcasting giant. This move was intended to be the first step in a major European expansion. However, following strategic shifts at Libsyn, the original founders seized a unique opportunity in March 2024 to buy back the company. Now independent once again, Julep Media has refocused its energy on its core strength: the German advertising market. In a strategic restructuring, the hosting business was spun off as a separate entity, Audiorella, allowing Julep to dedicate itself fully to being Germany's leading technology-driven podcast advertising platform.
