We are seeking a skilled Systems Analyst 3 to independently define, develop, and maintain clinical information technology solutions that enhance healthcare operations. In this role, you will work with clinical teams, IT stakeholders, and vendors to implement and optimize complex enterprise applications, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and secure patient care delivery. You will leverage your expertise in Cerner and other healthcare systems to manage upgrades, support workflows, troubleshoot technical issues, and drive process improvements. This position involves remote work with occasional cross-team collaboration and project-based responsibilities. Your contributions will directly impact operational efficiency, data integrity, and the overall quality of healthcare services.
Accountabilities
- Analyze, design, and maintain clinical information systems (Cerner Millennium and related applications) to support complex healthcare operations.
- Lead and support system implementations, upgrades, and maintenance projects to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production and non-production environments, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Manage application configurations, workflows, document libraries, and interfaces to ensure optimal system performance and data integrity.
- Collaborate with clinical, ancillary, and IT teams to evaluate operational needs and recommend system enhancements.
- Lead small and large projects, including scoping, resource management, execution, and post-go-live support documentation.
- Provide mentorship and cross-training to team members, promoting service excellence and operational knowledge transfer.
- Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and internal IT standards, including ITIL processes for incident and change management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 7 years of Healthcare IT Analyst experience with Cerner application management expertise.
- Proven experience in EMR/ERP systems, system implementations, upgrades, maintenance, and process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of clinical workflows, patient care standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience leading small projects, including scoping, scheduling, and execution.
- Cerner Fundamentals certification required within six months of hire; advanced professional certifications preferred.
- ITIL v3 or higher Foundation certification preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to act as a subject matter expert and respond to call requirements when necessary.
