We are seeking an experienced Project Geotechnical Engineer to join a dynamic team delivering complex infrastructure and environmental projects across Texas. In this role, you will provide technical leadership on geotechnical analysis, foundation design, dam and levee safety, slope stability, and remediation of geologic hazards. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale projects, applying advanced engineering principles to solve challenging problems while guiding junior staff and managing client relationships. The position offers exposure to diverse projects including hydropower facilities, pipelines, linear infrastructure, and earth structures. Ideal candidates are skilled problem-solvers with strong technical expertise, project management experience, and the ability to balance client needs with innovative engineering solutions. Travel to project sites throughout Texas will be required, and hybrid work arrangements are supported depending on location.
Accountabilities
- Plan, scope, and manage resources, schedules, and budgets for major geotechnical projects.
- Independently lead design and execution of complex projects, including foundation, dam, levee, and slope stability analysis.
- Provide construction support, including bid assistance, field observation, coordination with contractors, and project closeout.
- Conduct geotechnical analysis for remediation of landslides, geologic hazards, and infrastructure challenges.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, understanding their needs and providing risk evaluation and asset management guidance.
- Assist in business development, including generating leads and pursuing new project opportunities.
- Lead project meetings, present technical findings, and provide mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Review project documents for quality assurance and adherence to engineering standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution; Master’s preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in Texas; additional licenses such as California PE or specialized geotechnical certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 4 years of increasing responsibility in geotechnical engineering, including project management experience.
- Knowledge of dam and levee safety, seismic evaluation, liquefaction assessment, slope stability, seepage analysis, and foundation design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office, and geotechnical analysis software (e.g., FLAC, GeoStudio, Mathcad).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.
- Experience in business development, client relationship management, and project pursuit preferred.
- Ability to travel throughout Texas and adapt to hybrid work arrangements.
