We are seeking a senior-level engineer to lead the design, scaling, and modernization of a real-time data platform that powers high-traffic, data-intensive applications. In this pivotal role, you’ll build the next generation of cloud infrastructure that supports advanced pricing pipelines, ML-driven features, and large-scale streaming systems. You’ll collaborate across infrastructure, data engineering, and ML teams to deliver a reliable, high-performance platform capable of supporting millions of users in real time. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact by shaping the core architecture of an evolving, cloud-agnostic system.
Accountabilities:
As a Staff Infrastructure Engineer - Data Platform, you will:
- Design and implement real-time data pipelines using Kafka or similar queuing technologies to power key data and ML workflows.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate live data from core Postgres systems into streaming architectures.
- Define and execute the migration path from Datastream to a queuing-based system.
- Drive the company’s cloud migration strategy from GCP to AWS, using cloud-agnostic tools and infrastructure patterns.
- Develop scalable load testing and stress-testing frameworks to ensure the reliability of pricing and data systems.
- Integrate automated testing into deployment pipelines to improve release quality.
- Work closely with data and pricing engineering teams to define a 6–12 month technical roadmap for shared platform initiatives.
- Build and modularize Terraform infrastructure-as-code frameworks to streamline provisioning across teams.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should have:
- 8+ years of experience designing and scaling distributed systems in production environments.
- Deep expertise with Kubernetes, Kafka/Kinesis, and Terraform in cloud-native infrastructures.
- Strong proficiency in Golang and C++, with a deep understanding of networking fundamentals and system performance.
- Proven experience managing multi-cloud environments and driving cloud-agnostic infrastructure strategies.
- Background in real-time, event-driven systems for consumer-facing products.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure reliability practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a strong sense of ownership and technical direction.
- Bonus points for experience supporting machine learning platforms or designing large-scale Terraform modules for multi-team enablement.
Benefits
- Competitive salary range between $200,000 and $290,000, plus pre-IPO equity.
- Unlimited PTO for full-time employees with flexible scheduling (except during key operational periods).
- 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave.
- $500 home office allowance to enhance your remote workspace.
- Flexible remote-first culture with high team engagement and collaboration.
- 5% 401(k) match, plus health, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents.
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge data infrastructure within a high-growth, mission-driven company.
