We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Staff Engineer to lead front-end and full-stack initiatives that optimize high-traffic, SEO-driven web experiences. In this role, you will work at the intersection of platform, growth, and consumer experience, driving technical excellence, web performance, and accessibility while mentoring engineers and influencing architecture. You will collaborate closely with product, SEO, and data teams to deliver scalable, performant solutions that enhance discoverability and user engagement. Accountabilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize front-end platforms for high-traffic web experiences, ensuring performance, accessibility, and technical SEO excellence.
- Collaborate with product, SEO, and data teams to run experiments, measure impact, and iterate on digital experiences.
- Lead technical initiatives that enhance platform scalability, observability, security, and developer experience.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices in coding, testing, and architecture.
- Contribute to backend APIs and infrastructure as needed, including integration with Machine Learning systems.
- Ensure high standards of code quality and maintain a modern, maintainable tech stack.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with strong full-stack and front-end development expertise.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Expert in ES6, TypeScript, Node.js, and modern front-end frameworks such as Next.js, React.js, Astro.js, Nuxt.js, Tailwind, etc.
- Deep knowledge of web performance, Core Web Vitals, and technical SEO.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles, usability, and accessibility best practices.
- Experience with observability, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- Ability to lead complex projects, mentor team members, and influence engineering practices.
- Preferred experience in additional programming languages (Rust, Go, Python) and managing production-scale websites or applications.
