We are seeking a talented Senior Cloud Platform Security Engineer to strengthen and scale security across cloud-native applications and infrastructure. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize security controls for multi-cloud and Kubernetes environments, ensuring consistent protection across all stages of the software lifecycle. You’ll collaborate with engineering teams to embed security best practices into CI/CD processes, drive automation, and enhance threat detection capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to innovate, mentor, and directly influence enterprise-level cloud security strategy within a forward-thinking technology environment.
Accountabilities:
- Design, build, and evolve preventive security systems, including real-time feedback loops, WAF/Bot controls, and IAM automation at scale.
- Implement and enforce cloud and container hardening measures across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- Develop and operate advanced threat detection and response mechanisms for cloud-native workloads.
- Integrate automated scanning tools into CI/CD pipelines and develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions for consistent and scalable security.
- Collaborate with product development teams to guide secure coding practices and risk remediation strategies.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement in cloud and platform security processes.
- Support the automation of security tasks to streamline operations and incident response.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience in cloud security engineering, particularly in securing AWS or other major cloud platforms.
- Strong scripting or IaC skills using Python, PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Experience implementing and securing CI/CD pipelines, containerized applications, and Kubernetes clusters.
- Working knowledge of cloud-native security tools such as GuardDuty, Security Hub, Wiz, Datadog, Prisma Cloud, or equivalent.
- Experience with CDN and WAF technologies such as Akamai, Cloudflare, or AWS CloudFront.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and leadership teams.
- Familiarity with zero trust principles, cloud IAM, and security automation frameworks.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to mentor others effectively.
