This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Parse Biosciences. We are currently looking for a Bioinformatics Engineer/Senior Bioinformatics Engineer in the European Union.
We are seeking a talented Bioinformatics Engineer to contribute to the development of a cutting-edge cloud-based platform for single-cell RNA sequencing data analysis. In this role, you will collaborate across the full software stack to design, implement, and optimize computational pipelines, interactive visualizations, and user-facing features. You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment with a multidisciplinary team, tackling large-scale data challenges and shaping the technical direction of the platform. Accountabilities
- Design, prototype, develop, and test computational pipelines and visualizations for single-cell data analysis.
- Continuously iterate and enhance existing pipelines, features, and analytical tools.
- Collaborate closely with team members to architect new functionality and ensure code quality across the stack.
- Receive and incorporate feedback from colleagues and users to improve usability and performance.
- Troubleshoot analyses and assist users with technical challenges.
- Stay up-to-date with advances in single-cell genomics and emerging bioinformatics methodologies.
- Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements
- Degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field; PhD preferred for senior-level roles.
- 2+ years of professional experience in industry (Masters) or 3+ years for Bachelors; additional experience for senior consideration.
- Strong programming skills in Python and R.
- Advanced experience with bioinformatics pipelines using Nextflow, Snakemake, or similar frameworks.
- Practical experience with open-source single-cell analysis tools, including Scanpy and Seurat.
- Professional experience in web development and data visualization.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git/GitHub) and cloud-based containerized applications, preferably on AWS.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative skills; experience leading projects or acting as a technical lead is a plus.
