We are looking for a SeniorFinancial Analyst to be responsible for supporting financial planning, analysis, and decision support for our Product & Engineering groups. They collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide strategic financial insights, drive financial performance, and support business growth initiatives. We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates critical thinking with high financial savvy and a positive relationship with the Product & Engineering group.

You’ll be working with your manager, our Finance Director, to achieve the goals of the Finance team! In this role, you will partner with Jama Software’s Product and Engineering group, aiding them in achieving financial targets and it is a crucial role in our company's success.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner Product & Engineering leaders to provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to drive innovation, optimize investments, and improve profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and monitor financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for business initiatives.
  • Perform financial modeling, scenario analysis, and case development to evaluate investments within Product & Engineering.
  • Conduct variance analysis, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to improve financial performance and drive business results.
  • Support financial performance reporting and critical metric tracking for with the Product & Engineering functions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial metrics and performance indicators.
  • Support creation of P&Ls, pricing strategy development, and profitability assessments for new products, services, and customer segments.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives, providing financial expertise and partnering with team members to drive successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to continuously improve financial processes, systems, and reporting to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to provide valuable insights for Product & Engineering strategies and decision-making.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in finance, business partnering, or related roles, preferably in a technology or SaaS company.
  • Strong financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting skills, with a proven understanding of financial metrics and key drivers of business performance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • High proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, Adaptive, Intacct).
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to non-financial team members.
  • Solid business insight and the ability to understand the broader strategic goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience utilizing AWS cost and usage data and identifying opportunities to optimize AWS usage and spending through effective resource allocation, rightsizing, and utilization of AWS cost management tools.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with IT, engineering, operations, and business teams to understand AWS usage patterns, requirements, and opportunities for cost optimization.
